Lady in a RED CAR!

The Forester is here! Got it Friday at work just in time to drive it to the ladies night out at Tulalip Casino that evening.

Love the car! It's a beautiful shade of red. I believe the previous users had kids due to some of the wear and evidence of stain removal on the back seat. A faint waterspot that is hard to see unless you are looking for it. It came with a rubber tray in the cargo area too. That's an extra I figured I'd have to get after the fact. One funny thing was the crossbar on the roof. They are extra and come in a pair. There's only one!!! Before we add a ski rack we'll have to find one at a junk yard. The Forester drives smoothly and is an automatic. I keep reaching for the gear shift and the clutch while driving. Bad habit I better break before I put passengers through the windshield if I hit the brake pedal instead of a clutch pedal.

Friday night was a blast! The Retro's were playing at the Casino and I got 5 other girlfriends from work to go. We all had a good time and those of us from the 80's generation (class of '82 rocks!) danced like fools with almost every song. Saturday I wasn't worth much due to exhaustion. No I wasn't hung over, but this old bod is not used to staying up to 2:30 in the morning!!!! Then getting up a few hours later just killed me!!! My hips are a little sore today also. I'm so outta shape!

DH is getting his dive certification today. Yesterday was the last of the tests performed in open water and today the dives are just for fun. He wanted to bring soup as the weather is crappy for the potluck they are having. He hooked up an inverter to his truck and last night I browned some hot italian sausage and made "Best Italian Sausage Soup" from allrecipes.com, put it in a crock pot and then this morning he plugged it into the inverter in his truck and away he went. Hope it's as good as it sounds. It got 5 stars out of 5 on the web site. We scrounged up some soup bowls and plastic spoons in storage in the basement. The soup calls for adding spinach noodles 30 minutes before the end of the cooking time but that would be a hassle for him as he's diving so I cooked up some 3-cheese spinach tortellini and put it in plastic bags. He can just add it to each bowl as he serves it and pour the soup over top the noodles. They should warm up sufficiently with the heat of the soup. Speaking of which, as I sat typing this I just realized we forgot a ladle! Hope he can be creative enough with a mug or something to scoop the soup with.
